Shri Afzal Amanullah

Chairman, RERA Bihar

Afzal Amanullah is a former Indian Administrative Service Officer, who joined the IAS in 1979 and was allotted the Bihar Cadre. He has held a variety of posts in erstwhile Bihar and Delhi and was also Consul General of India at Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). He retired from the IAS in May, 2016, as Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Post retirement he headed two Committees set up by the Government of India one regarding Minority Education and the other regarding framing of a new Haj policy 2018-2022. He joined as Chairman, Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Bihar on 02nd April, 2018.
                   Widely travelled in India and abroad, Afzal Amanullah did his schooling from St. Xaviers School and St. Michaels School, Patna. Afzal Amanullah holds a B.A. (Honours) degree in Economics from St. Stephens College, Delhi University. He did his M. A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, B.L. from Patna University and has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University (USA).
