A retired Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 1984 batch. He retired from the service in October 2019 from the post of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bihar-Jharkhand. After retirement he joined as Member of Income Tax Settlement Commission in February 2020 and retired from there as its vice-Chairman.
